CEREMONY is a diffusive accord of bitter orange, fresh fruits, reishi mushroom, green tea, blue lotus, conferous woods, oud and brilliant white musks. This is another one that has been in the works for years and had proven almost impossible to execute properly. Possibly ‘inconceivable dharmas’ was a bit ambitious as a fragrance concept, especially one intended to last well on skin - but after a lot of work and many years of age, this does perform well and it smells great - totally unfamilar also.

This is a very limited batch that was mixed in 2019, just rediscovered and re-evaluated - and damn, it’s aged well both as a fragrance batch and a concept. It’s also surprisingly different from our other fragrances, many of which contain the same notes. As frustrating as perfumery is in terms of finding and creating original concepts that actually smell great and perform well over time without becoming tiresome, we seem to have struck a rich vein with what might be described as original interpretations of incense, tea, amber and oud fragrances, often with a signature freshness and otherworldliness.

CEREMONY will also be released later in some form but inevitably won’t be quite the same, if only due to age. There’s enough juice for probably nine 50ml bottles and a very limited number of samples, which are being shared as random surprises with some orders. Release date will probably not be announced due to the small supply; sign up for the waitlist to receive an email when it becomes available. We’re not usually fans of releasing anything limited that has to be bought without sampling first but that is changing recently, partly because of the rediscovery of several older small batches like this and the fact that there are enough people now who are familiar enough with our perfumer’s work that they can accurately judge whether this is something they’ll enjoy.
