MASTER
MASTER
Meet the MASTER. Has important books in his library and may have written a few himself. Iron fist in a velvet glove, steady hand at the wheel, lord of all he surveys - and always smells great doing it. Key lime, bitter orange, mandarin, cognac, lychee, rose, jasmine sambac, vanilla, cocoa, tobacco, orris, saffron, frankincense, cypress wood, cedar, oud, leather, civet, vetiver and sandalwood form a mesmerizing accord that speaks of intelligence and good breeding. Cozy and distinctive, MASTER is all about the long, lingering drydown and is always pleasant to wear and to be around, even as it demands your absolute loyalty and submission.
Resistance is futile.
Note 5/24: This is now a new batch of MASTER with slight adjustments to the topnote and less age. Good stuff.
“I am quite impressed with everything I’ve tried so far. So far, Master is the standout—a wonderful contemporary leather, somewhat reminiscent of Knize Ten. It did not have the harsh aromachemical tonality of strong recent leathers such as Rhinoceros or Peau de Bête. Master has a smooth, natural, oiled leather smell. For me, Master was not at all an épater les bourgeois BDSM-type of leather, and I would wear it quite happily.” - Grayspoole, Basenotes
“Dropping in to express my love of Master as well. It’s a tough one to explain for me but it feels like the concentrated distilled essence of a certain facet of leather that I’ve always loved and rarely find in supposed “leather” perfumes. Not animalic, not “smooth”, not an IBQ thing, but a sort of Fossil Store-meets-solvent thing. it’s way more astringent and bracing than most leathers I’ve tried and it actually reminds me of my weird childhood urge to sniff sharpies and gas but it’s simultaneously just a really beautiful well rounded scent that pulls compliments.
”I’m genuinely stumped as to what to go for as I feel the entire line is FBW. I have so many leathers in my collection but none like Master, likewise I have retro powdery scents but none that do what FN does. Same goes with ambers and Silver. It’s a testament to just how solid the line is that Im stuck trying to decide which to go for first, and I haven’t even tried them all…I should have tried Assam when it was available I’m having major FOMO now lol” - Theholyfilament, Basenotes
